The Project
The Courthouse Project is a unique development, run by local people, in Otley West Yorkshire. Our aim is to transform a redundant nineteenth century magistrates court into a unique 'arts and resource centre' for our community. We're going to make the building fully accessible - somewhere people of all ages and abilities can try things out, get access to advice and support, have fun and discover more about their talents.

Local band

The Courthouse will be somewhere local groups can come to borrow equipment, rehearse, hold meetings and events, access training and have the opportunity to work together in new ways. Somewhere which can act as a springboard for local people who need advice, want to change direction, start a new career, set up a small creative business - or simply try volunteering.

Salsa dancing

The Courthouse will be somewhere to see a film, catch an exhibition, watch a show or listen to good music. After six years of development work, building begins on site in 2003.
